Miss Sarah McCollum
Miss Sarah has been dancing since the age of 10. She first came to Studio `91 in 1994 to take baton lessons but soon experimented with other forms of movement including ballet, tap, and jazz and hasn’t stopped dancing since.
As a Studio `91 dancer, Miss Sarah has had the opportunity to participate in various dancing events including Dancing at Disney (1999), Farmer’s Fair Parades, Capitol Kickline, and Dance Olympus. Sarah continued her dance experience by taking classes at college. Just recently, she performed in an African piece titled In My Mind, I Remained Free.
She recently graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Corporate Communication and a Minor in Dance and Business Administration. She plans to attend James Madison University in the fall to recieve a Master’s in Sports and Recreation Management.
In addition to dancing, Sarah has kept active working at Elon University Campus Recreation teaching Group Exercise classes ranging from aerobic to mind/body/spirit classes. She is Aerobic and Fitness Association of America certified in Primary Group Exercise. She is looking forward to coming back ‘home’ to teach what she has learned from school and work.
