Miss Kristen Smith
Kristen Smith hails from Hanover, PA. She began dancing at the age of five at the School of Music and Dance in Hanover, PA. In high school she went to the Harrisburg Dance Conservatory and performed with the Harrisburg Ballet.
Kristen started off in college at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Sophomore year she transferred to Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, OK where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Management.
During her summers in college she performed at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. Upon graduation, Kristen spent the better part of the next four years entertaining on Celebrity Cruise Lines. She travelled from Alaska through the Panama Canal to the Caribbean. She sailed all around South America, down the Amazon River, to the southern most port, around Cape Horn and up the west coast.
In 2002 Kristen spent eight months at Tokyo Disney Sea in Tokyo, Japan. This was such a great experience to learn about a whole different culture and way of life. As an aerialist in the show “Mystic Rhythms”, Kristen flew on wires wearing a harness out of a fifteen foot pool of water performing an aerial ballet flying up to twenty five feet in the air.
After that it was time to live in the states for a while!! She moved to Las Vegas and spent the next two and a half years dancing at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in the show “Masquerade Show in the Sky”. For the last two years Kristen has been sailing again. This time with Stiletto Entertainment on Holland America Cruise Lines. She spent all last summer in the Mediterranean.
Finally, after many years away, Kristen has returned home and is very excited to join the staff at Studio 91. She brings all her experiences and training to the students and hopes that they will enjoy dancing as much as she does.
